Kellan’s Legacy of Love began in 2021 as a way to honor the life and light of Kellan Thomas Reynolds—a joyful, funny, and resilient little boy who brought happiness to everyone around him. Born on January 28, 2011, Kellan passed away at just 9 years old on July 2, 2020, from mitochondrial disease, a rare and devastating condition that he faced with unbelievable strength. Despite countless hospital visits and challenges, Kellan’s love for fire trucks, washing machines, squirrels, and his favorite toy, Mr. Potato Head, never wavered—nor did the joy he gave to those who knew him.
In the months following Kellan’s passing, his mother Donna began delivering toys, comfort items, and support to children in hospitals and their families—simple acts of love in his memory. What started as one mother’s way of keeping her son’s light alive quickly grew into a mission that touched many lives. In 2023, Kellan’s Legacy of Love officially became a nonprofit organization.
Since then, we’ve remained devoted to supporting children with medical challenges and their families through personalized care and compassion. We provide hospital care packages filled with toys, blankets, room decorations, and gift cards for essentials like gas, meals, and groceries. For families entering hospice care, we offer emotional guidance during their most heartbreaking moments—walking alongside them with understanding, support, and love.
But we do more than deliver items—we deliver hope. From large-scale toy drives and family events to partnerships with local businesses and generous donors, every effort we make is grounded in the belief that love lives on through action.
Since 2021, Kellan’s Legacy of Love has brought comfort and joy to hundreds of families and delivered over 2,000 toys to hospitalized children. Though we are a small organization, we are fueled by Kellan’s spirit and a community that believes in showing up with kindness when it matters most.
Kellan’s story continues to guide us—and through this work, his legacy lives on.
Thanks so much for the sloth lovey that kept me safe during my hospital stay-love liam (3 months)

🎁 Kellan’s Legacy of Love Christmas Toy Drive Begins NOW! 🎁
For many children, Christmas is a season of excitement, warmth, and wonder. But for the pediatric patients at St. Mary’s Hospital, the holidays can feel lonely and overwhelming as they undergo treatments or spend long days away from home.
This year, the need is greater than ever. St. Mary’s is experiencing a severe shortage of toys, and the shelves that should bring joy and comfort to hospitalized children are nearly empty.
Although this is our first time hosting a Christmas toy drive, it is actually our 6th toy drive overall. We traditionally hold our large drive every January in honor of Kellan’s birthday — but when we learned how low the donations were at St. Mary’s right now, we knew we had to act immediately. These kids can’t wait.
✨ These toys are more than presents — they are hope, distraction, courage, and joy for children fighting battles no child should have to face. Each donation brings comfort to a child and honors the beautiful spirit of Kellan, who spent so much of his life at St. Mary’s.
💚 Every single toy matters. Every single donation makes a difference.
🧸 All toys must be in by December 20th.
